Revision of constitutional provisions as well as laws that have impeded peace, unity and development. The process shall be consultative, people-centric, and preferably bottom-up.
It shall entail direct consultations with the people by legislators and stakeholders to determine the constitutional provisions and existing laws, rules and regulations that need to be amended and make the proposed amendments very clear and simple.
Acceptability to majority of the people shall be a primordial concern.
The results of the consultation process shall be subjected to a referendum.
Key Result Area: Amendment of constitutional provisions and legislation/revision of laws and implementing rules and regulations.
Key Performance Indicator: Number and quality of amended constitutional provisions and legislated/revised laws and implementing rules and regulations.
SMART Objective: Constitutional provisions, laws and implementing rules and regulations that have held back the attainment of peace, unity and development shall have been amended and revised by end of June, 2028.
