YES FOR PEACE – Bayanihan ng Bayan is a people-centric non-government initiative to mobilize the pro-active involvement and collective participation of the Filipino people and all government agencies in the whole-of-nation approach to institutionalize good governance and thereby end armed conflicts through five (5) parallel, stand-alone but inter-related Thematic Phases – 1) AROUSE; 2) ORGANIZE; 3) MOBILIZE; 4) GOVERGENCE, and 5) CHARTER CHANGE – towards Peace, Unity and Development.

HISTORICAL NOTES & HIGHLIGHTS
YES FOR PEACE – Bayanihan ng Bayan was initiated in the University of the Philippines – Diliman in December 1988.
It was developed to Arouse, Organize and Mobilize the Filipino people through a national open referendum and awareness sharing dialogues on existing government programs and thereby mobilize all sectors in a human rights based to counter violent extremism and terrorism as well as assert the Right to Peace.
It is essentially a paper and ink initiative to establish a national consensus to end armed conflicts and democratically institutionalize good governance.
